 Jennifer Luck

My artworks are an exploration of the beauty and fragility of my local environment; the escarpment, forests, gardens, ocean and rock pools. They highlight the smaller aspects of nature, the textures, layers, surfaces, space, light, movement and depth of these that are so often overlooked or misused. My artworks are substantially derived from experimentation, medium reactions and manipulated chance and are inspired by beauty.

I am greatly influenced by my childhood memories of days at the beach, playing in the beautiful gardens of my grandparents, and regularly walking the bush tracks of the escarpment under Sublime Point. I am today still extremely amazed and bewildered by the beauty of the environment. Sensory memories are layered into my work, as are suggestions of found objects from each natural and built environment I explore. Each artwork is unique as they preserve memories, moods and emotions that are attached to each environment and ‘hidden gem’.
